Toxic Chemicals to Keep you Safe?

Whether you maintain your pool yourself, or hire an outside company, surely, you know that without chlorine and chemicals (or the Aquastaser) your pool would turn into a green pond of algae, pathogens and harmful bacteria. However, these chemicals carry known health side effects, and are intended to be poisonous. After all, they are created to kill micro-organisms and viruses and keep your pool water sanitized.

The main ingredients in the cocktail of pool chemicals generally include Chlorine (trichloro-S-triazinetrione), muriatic acid (for pH balance), stabilizer (hydrochloric acid), and algaecide. At the right levels and balance, they create a resort like pool look and trick you into thinking your pool is a backyard oasis of leisure and fun.

But, at what cost to your health?

According to the Centers for Disease Control, chlorine poisoning is the leading cause of illness associated with swimming pools - more than drowning or accidents. Dermatologists and experts have been warning swimmers about the health impacts of chlorine for decades, but until recently it has been the only effective option for pool owners to sanitize their water.

Swimmers frequently report skin irritation, dryness, rashes, chlorine burns, and exacerbated existing conditions. Furthermore, Chlorine has been linked to bladder and rectal cancer and possibly an increased risk for coronary heart disease.

Our skin is the largest organ in our body and acts like a sponge to all chemicals we are exposed to.  Just imagine what it can absorb during an hour long swim in your beautiful chlorinated pool.

Numerous studies have linked prolonged human exposure to chlorine (even at "safe levels") to respiratory related health complications including bladder and rectal cancer and possibly an increased risk for coronary heart disease.  Additionally, a research study from Belgium showed teens who swim in chlorinated pools have more than eight times the risk of developing asthma or allergies.

Sadly, most people do not even question the health impacts of swimming in a conventional pool, and accept that it is the only option for swimming pool maintenance.

However, with the invention of the Aquastaser, backyard pool owners now have the opportunity to invest in the health of their family, while enjoying the first all natural, chemical free pool system. Say goodbye to chlorine, and the harmful chemicals we have been convinced that we need for our pools to stay clear and sanitized. The future of clean pools is here.
